The sections below are the full Terms. They control if anything in the short version is unclear.
EVERWILD is a wildlife app, currently at everwild.uk and in the EVERWILD apps. By using EVERWILD, You agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If You do not agree, please do not use EVERWILD.
You must be 18 years of age or older, or have a parent or guardian's permission. You confirm this when You first use the app. EVERWILD is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
You can browse EVERWILD, and make your first identification, without an account. To save Your finds, build a profile, or take part in the community (the activity feed, comments, and squads), EVERWILD needs a free account, so Your finds are saved and synced across Your devices. You can sign up with Google, or with an email and password. You are responsible for activity on Your account, for keeping Your sign-in details safe, and for the accuracy of what You submit. You may close Your account at any time.
Get the photo without getting in the animal's way. You agree not to bait, chase, feed, harass, or harm wildlife to capture a find. You agree not to trespass, and to follow the wildlife and access laws of the place You are in. EVERWILD may remove finds and restrict accounts that do not meet this standard.
"Content" means every photo, audio recording, observation note, field-log entry, location, time, name, comment, or other material You submit to EVERWILD. You retain ownership of and all intellectual-property rights in Your Content.
You also grant every other EVERWILD user a non-exclusive licence to view Your Content in the app for personal, non-commercial use.
Find locations and geoprivacy. By default the location of a find You make public is shown at the position You logged it and may be licensed under the licence above. Locations of sensitive or at-risk species are withheld. Squads let You share Your exact finds and live location only with members You choose; squad live-location is for in-app coordination only and is never licensed or sold. Do not use squads to track or locate anyone without their participation. You can opt out of the sale or sharing of Your information using the control in Settings.
EVERWILD's revenue comes in part from licensing aggregated wildlife observations and images to research, conservation, and commercial partners. This is the funding model that keeps EVERWILD free. EVERWILD does not promise You a share of that revenue. Any prizes, rewards, or draws are governed by their own separate rules.
You represent and warrant that, for every piece of Content You submit:
Your submitted finds appear in the public community showcase inside the app. By submitting, You acknowledge this. You may mark a single find as private after the fact in the app. Locations are coarsened on every public read path. Sensitive or at-risk species never show find-clues that could be used to locate the animal. When You are the first to document a species in a region, EVERWILD may also display Your chosen name and Your discovery photo as the first-finder credit on that species' Codex page, subject to the same privacy and sensitive-species protections above.
You agree not to: copy or scrape EVERWILD data outside Your own contributions; reverse-engineer the app; abuse rate limits or attempt to break EVERWILD's services; impersonate another person; or use EVERWILD for any unlawful purpose. EVERWILD may suspend or terminate access for any breach of these Terms.
The EVERWILD name, emblem, app, website, software, designs, and curated content (including species cards and silhouettes) are owned by EVERWILD or our licensors. You are not granted any right to use the EVERWILD trademarks or to reproduce EVERWILD's curated content outside the app.
EVERWILD identifies species using artificial-intelligence models and a community-reviewed catalog. Identifications are best estimates, not authoritative determinations. Do not rely on EVERWILD identifications for safety, medical, legal, regulatory, or compliance decisions.
Identification is provided by Google. When You submit a photo for identification, it is sent to Google's Gemini API to determine the species. Under Google's applicable terms, Google may retain Your submissions, use them to provide and improve Google's products and services (including training Google's machine-learning models), and Google personnel may review them. Your use of the identification feature is therefore also subject to Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. EVERWILD does not control, and is not responsible for, Google's own processing of submissions once they are sent to Google.
EVERWILD is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, EVERWILD is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of Your use of EVERWILD. Some of the warranty and liability limitations in these Terms may not apply to You if Your local law does not allow them.
You agree to indemnify and hold EVERWILD harmless from any claim arising from Content You submit, from Your breach of these Terms, or from Your violation of any law or third-party right.
You may stop using EVERWILD and close Your account at any time. EVERWILD may suspend or terminate Your access for any breach of these Terms or for any reason on reasonable notice. The licence You granted to EVERWILD in section 5 survives termination for Content already used in community records, aggregated datasets, derivative works, or AI/ML training data.
EVERWILD may update these Terms. If a change is material, EVERWILD will ask You to accept the updated Terms before continuing to use the app. Continued use after a change means You accept it.
Questions about these Terms: [email protected]. Privacy questions: [email protected]. Copyright notices (DMCA / equivalent): [email protected]. These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which EVERWILD operates, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
